Google Ads & Bing

Google's Ads and Microsoft's Ads are great online tools to help project a business/website to a wider audience.

We have been working with online advertising from Google and Microsoft for over 10 years - focused on small to medium sized businesses. We know what works and what pitfalls to avoid.

New websites are normally placed in the bottom ranks from a search engine's perspective. Existing sites may have new services or products that need promotions.

Online advertising allows one to bid up for a much higher ranking/presence.

AdWords works with a combination of three tools

(1) Keyword phrases which triggers the ad to be displayed

(2) The ad itself - either text or text + graphics

(3) The Landing Page where visitors are taken when they click on the ad. Sometimes this could be the Home page, a specific product page, or a special page for users that access the site from ads.

All three items need to be successfully integrated in order to get the maximum power from Internet advertising.

Analytics

Connecting back to other tools, Google's Analytics allows us to examine visitors that come from ads, determine how long they stay, how many pages they visit, etc.

We examine visitors from ads vs. visitors from searches and determine which is working better. And the data is available almost instantly, although it becomes more accurate after a 24 hour period. It is important to remember: the numbers are not exact, but representative.

What Analytics allows us to do is compare numbers from one day to the next, one week to the next, etc. and spot trends.

This is the job of Gold Ray Web: pinpoint good and bad activity from online ads or from searches. From this data, we make corrections to the advertising setup, or guide changes through the web designer, to insure each site is meeting the client's objectives.

Gold Ray Web is a registered Google Partner and Bing Partner.
